Basque Coast Half Day Tour

BasqueCoast Half Day Tour map
The Basque Coast is a wild and natural place full of tradition and good gastronomy. Come and discover the Oldest Transporter Bridge in the world and the coastal village where you will enjoy the rough huge rock that holds on the top the old hermit of San Juan which is connected with a long stone-stair passage to the mainland. Next you will continue to the fishing town of Bermeo. Here you will stop to visit the narrow streets, the Juradera Church, the Ercilla Tower, the old port and the Town Hall among other sites. Later you will pass through Mundaka, a beautiful site with magnificent views of the Urdaibai Biosphere, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

Afterwards, you will arrive at the village of Gernika to visit the Casa de Juntas or old Law House and the Basque Sacred Tree. Finally you will return directly back to Bilbao to arrive at approximately 2:00pm.

Vizcaya Bridge – the first bridge made with iron and twisted steel ropes that carries both people and cars.

Bermeo – an old and charming village with a lot to do and see on foot.

Urdaibai Bisophere – a quick view of this declared Unesco heritage site. An ecological landscape with beaches, cliffs and forests with pre historic sites.

Gernika – Known worldwide due to Pablo Picasso’s painting. Guernika was bombed in 1937 by the German and Italian air forces. Just a few buildings from the time still remain, but this charming town has a lot to see, such as the Tree of Guernika.
