On this guided tour you will get to visit Fatima, Portugal’s most important pilgrimage destination and Coimbra one of the oldest university cities in Europe.
Fátima is known for its apparitions of the Virgin Mary to 3 shepherd children in 1917. Here you will visit the stunning Neoclassical Basilica and Sanctuary. You will also have the opportunity to attend mass should you wish as well as have some free time for lunch.
After lunch the tour will continue to Coimbra, Portugal’s only University City until the early 20th century. Here the tour will take you through the city’s narrow streets, visiting the Sé Nova Cathedral, the only church in Portugal to survive the Reconquista almost intact. Finishing the day will be a tour of the former building of the medieval Royal Palace.
