Camino Training Walk | Slieve Foy Loop via Greenway, Carlingford

This month, our Camino Training will be Slieve Foy Loop via Greenway on Saturday the 18th May at 10am.

The meeting point will be at the car park at the tourist information( see map) in Carlingford at 10 am and we will start with a 15-minutes introduction and gentle stretch, providing advice on what to bring with you on the Camino. We will then set off at 10.15am sharp.

Here is some information about the walk –
This walk will start out in the village of Carlingford. Heading up the mountain from the village we will follow the Slieve Foy Loop through the forest. Coming out the far side of the forest we will follow the Tain Way (yellow man markers) down to the road to cross over and the take the Carlingford to Omeath Greenway back to Carlingford. We will return to Carlingford by the marina and under the bridge at St John’s Castle back into the village.

Parking: Carlingford Car Park behind the Tourist Information Centre

Slieve Foy Loop via Greenway Walk Grade:
Distance: 11.7km
Time: 2.5hrs
Climb: 270m


What to bring on the day:
Walking Waterproof shoes/boots recommend – it can get muddy in the forest if it has been raining
Walking poles (optional) 
Small backpack 
Waterproof gear (this is Ireland 😉
