Get your Compostela - Start the Camino at home!
By walking this 75 km trail from A Coruna to Santiago, you can also apply to get your Compostela certificate. For that, you have to walk a certified 25 km pilgrimage in your home country. This alternative way is perfect for people who don’t have the time to walk the 100 km required to get a Compostela.
- To be eligible, people have to provide evidence to the Pilgrim Office that proves that they have walked 25 km in their home country.
- For people living in A Coruna, if they walk the Camino for spiritual reasons they may also receive their Compostela certificate.
Some eligible Ireland and UK routes
In Ireland, you can get a Celtic Camino Compostela and go on some of the spiritual routes like the Bray Coastal Route, Boyne Valley Camino, and St Kevin’s Way. For more information, please visit the Camino Society of Ireland website.
In the UK, some of the spiritual routes that provide a pilgrim passport and stamps which would provide proof for the Pilgrim Office in Santiago are the Way of St. Andrews, the Pilgrims Way (Winchester or London to Canterbury) and St Michael’s Way (Lelant to Mazarion).
