Geneva Way

Via Gebennensis

Santiago de Compostela and the burial place of the Apostle St James may be located in Spain – but the pilgrimage routes leading there traverse all of Europe.

A newer, very beautiful path to the beginning of the Camino de Santiago is the Geneva Way or Via Gebennensis. It connects Geneva with Le Puy en Velay. On this route, hikers and pilgrims will experience France in all its beauty.

Enjoy a relatively easy walk through rolling green French countryside beside crop fields and among grazing cows. Additionally, this walking holiday is filled with plenty of opportunities to relax and soak in the wonderful surroundings, exquisite cuisine and culture.

The route will amaze you with its picturesque scenery and beauty – and of course the food!
