some of the suppliers we use in spain

Messages of Hope from The Camino

The coronavirus (COVID-19) has caused some massive challenges for people around the world. As one of the hardest-hit countries, Spain has seen some massive changes. We work with a large number of local suppliers and small family-run businesses along the Camino, who are really struggling through this time. The tourist numbers have dropped to zero and so has their income.

Incredibly, they still have hope and are doing their best to remain positive about the future.

Here are messages sent to us by a couple of our suppliers in Spain during the current lockdown:

Casa das Corredoiras – One of the lovely guesthouses we use

This incredible duo is normally very busy welcoming guests to their accommodation on the Camino in Arzua.

Their message is that we will get through this together. They hope to welcome you later this year!

Francisco – one of Follow the Camino’s local tour guides

Francisco has been leading trips along the Camino for many years and we love working with him. In his message, Francisco talks about how he is sad that he won’t get to see people as soon as expected, but he looks forward to meeting you when this is in the past!

His message for you all is – postpone your trip, don’t cancel it!

Our suppliers are all carefully picked and we can’t wait to be supporting them again once this has passed. You can learn more about the accommodation that we use on our trips here.

We look forward to welcoming you to the Camino de Santiago soon.
