An initiative by Follow the Camino that aims to promote sustainability and the consumption of local products along the Camino de Santiago.
Through this campaign, we encourage restaurants and hotels on the Camino routes to offer vegetarian and vegan meal options.
Since 2006, we have been crafting and curating Camino journeys, ensuring our clients experience the best of what the Camino de Santiago has to offer. While much has changed on the Camino, there is one area that continues to trouble a lot of our clients: the need for vegetarian food options.
A significant percentage of our clients are vegetarian, and they often express frustration over the lack of vegetarian choices available along the Camino.
To support this effort, we have created a series of videos featuring recipes prepared by a local chef, highlighting fresh ingredients and traditional culinary techniques.
This initiative not only contributes to environmental preservation but also celebrates the rich gastronomic heritage of the region.
Our aim is for the hotels and restaurants we work with to adopt these recipes and include them as part of their menus, providing better dining experiences for all pilgrims.
