24 hours in Ferrol | Camino Inglés

Ferrol is a historic port city located in the northwest of Spain. With a rich maritime history and a charming Old Town, Ferrol is a great destination for a day trip. If you choose this route, you’ll discover the Coruña province. It will also take you to the beautiful medieval town of Betanzos.

Morning:

One of the first things to do when visiting Ferrol is to take a stroll through the Old Town. This charming area is home to a number of historic buildings, including the 18th-century Naval Museum, which offers a fascinating glimpse into the city’s past as a major naval base. Other highlights include the Cathedral of San Doménico, the Convent of San Francisco, and the Church of Nuestra Señora del Carmen.

Next, head to the waterfront to see the city’s famous shipyards. The Astilleros del Ferrol shipyards have been in operation since the 18th century, and are still an important part of the local economy today. Visitors can tour the shipyards to see the massive ships being built. It is also a great place to learn more about the history of shipbuilding in the region.
