Walk the road everyone talks about

Forget the idea that the French Way is only for people with a month to spare. Four days on this road will stay with you. So will seven, or fourteen. The route is 800 km from end to end, but you don’t have to walk all of it to feel what it means. You just have to start somewhere.

We’ve spent over 20 years helping people find their version of the Camino Francés. We take care of everything, so you can focus on the one thing that matters: the road ahead.

Flexible dates

No fixed departures. Tell us when you want to go and we build around that.

Handpicked accommodation

Every night pre-booked, carefully selected along the route.

Luggage transfers

Your bags travel to the next stop every morning. You carry nothing but a daypack.

Full support

Our app, walking notes, and a real person on the line 24/7. All you need during your walk.

Start planning your Camino Frances

The Camino Frances is the same road for everyone, but no two people walk it the same way. Some want a guide beside them every step. Others prefer the freedom of setting their own pace. Some have a month; others have a week. Below you’ll find four ways to walk it. Pick the one that fits your life.

Ladies Walking

Self Guided

This is our most popular option, and for good reason. You walk at your own pace, on your own schedule, with the freedom to linger over a coffee in Burgos or push on when the morning feels right. Every night’s accommodation is pre-booked, carefully selected along the route, and your luggage is transferred to the next stop each morning so you carry nothing but a daypack. Our support line is open 24/7 (a real person, not a chatbot). Independence with a safety net: that’s the idea.

Compostelas

Last 100 km: Sarria to Santiago

The last 100 kilometres of the Camino Francés (from Sarria to Santiago de Compostela) is the section most people walk when they have a week and a strong feeling they need to go. It’s the minimum distance required to receive a Compostela certificate, but don’t let that make it sound like a shortcut. The Galician countryside is genuinely beautiful: rolling green hills, eucalyptus forests, stone villages, and the slow build of anticipation as Santiago gets closer. Five to seven days, depending on your pace. You’ll meet pilgrims who have walked from France and pilgrims who started that morning, and by the time you reach the cathedral square, it won’t matter where anyone began.

Full Camino

Full Route: Saint-Jean to Santiago

The full Camino Francés is 800 km from the French Pyrenees to the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela. It takes most walkers between 30 and 35 days, and it is, without question, the most complete version of the experience. You’ll cross mountain passes, walk through medieval towns, spend days on the open meseta where the sky is bigger than anything you’ve seen, and arrive in Galicia changed by the time the spires come into view. It’s a long trip. It’s also the one people talk about for the rest of their lives.

Guided Tours on the French Way

Our guided groups are the closest thing to having a local friend walk the Camino Francés with you: someone who knows every stone, every story, and every shortcut worth taking. Your guide walks every kilometre with the group: not ahead, not behind. They set the pace, read the terrain, and make sure nobody falls through the cracks on a long day.

But guiding on the Camino is more than navigation. Each morning begins with a short briefing on the day’s stage: what to expect, where to stop, what you’ll pass through. Along the way, your guide reads aloud from local history, pilgrim accounts, and folklore tied to the exact ground you’re standing on.

We've thought of that one too

Not every walker fits the same mould, and the Camino Francés doesn’t ask you to. Whether you’re looking for a short taste of the road, a romantic escape, a touch of luxury at the end of a long day, or the freedom of two wheels instead of two feet, we’ve put together a collection of trips built around exactly that.

Camino Francés by Bike

Cycling the Camino Frances takes most riders between 7 and 12 days (fast enough to feel the distance, slow enough to still feel the road). You’ll pass through the same towns, follow the same path, and arrive at the same square in Santiago. Same iconic route, different rhythm entirely.

Camino Frances Deluxe

You still carry your daypack. You still follow the yellow arrows. You still earn every kilometre. The difference is where you end up at night: hand-picked boutique hotels and paradores chosen for comfort and character in equal measure. For walkers who want the full authenticity of the Camino without giving up the things they enjoy.

Short Break

Not enough time for the full route, but enough to feel what the Camino Frances is really about. The Short Break covers a carefully chosen stretch of the road: three to five days, a handful of stages, and the kind of walking that stays with you long after you’re back home.

Romantic Camino Frances

Walking the Camino Frances together is one of those trips you’ll talk about for years. It keeps everything that makes the Camino genuine (the villages, the yellow arrows, the unhurried pace) and layers in the details that make it feel like a trip built just for the two of you. Boutique hotels, private rooms, and a small surprise each day to share at the end of the day. The warmth of the Camino stays intact. The evenings just look a little different.

The Camino Francés is waiting. So are we.

Most people who walk the Camino say the same thing afterwards: they wish they hadn’t waited so long. The road will still be there tomorrow, but the best dates, the best accommodation, and the space to prepare properly won’t wait forever.

Whatever version of the Camino you have in mind, we’re ready to help you plan it: no pressure, no commitment, just a conversation.

Camino Frances FAQ

Not as fit as you might think, but preparation matters. Most of our walkers are regular exercisers, not athletes. We recommend 6–8 weeks of progressive walking before you go, and we send a detailed training plan with every booking. The key is building up to consecutive days on your feet, not speed or distance.

May and September are the most popular months: good weather, vibrant atmosphere on the route, and manageable temperatures across the meseta. July and August are hot and very crowded. March–April is beautiful but wetter in Galicia. We can advise based on your specific dates and what you want from the experience.

Absolutely. The most common partial route is the last 100 km from Sarria, which qualifies for a Compostela certificate and takes 5–7 days.

For peak season (May, June, September) we recommend booking 3–6 months in advance, especially for groups. Popular accommodations fill up quickly. For off-peak travel, 6–8 weeks is usually enough. We can sometimes accommodate last-minute requests, just ask.

It’s one of the best solo trips in the world. The Camino has a built-in community. You’ll meet people at breakfast, on the path, and over dinner. Our self-guided option is particularly popular with solo walkers who want independence with a safety net. Many of our most loyal clients walked their first Camino alone.
