The Via de la Plata, also called the Silver Way, is the longest Camino de Santiago route. Starting in Seville and travelling north through Spain, it covers almost 1000 km before joining the Camino Sanabrés or the Camino Francés to reach Santiago de Compostela. This is a quieter Camino, offering open landscapes, Roman heritage, and historic cities along the way.
Our custom Via de la Plata map shows how the route is divided into sections, including the major towns and regions it passes. With this overview, you can see exactly how the Camino unfolds and choose whether to walk the full journey or a shorter section that suits your time.
The Via de la Plata map shows how this pilgrimage route crosses Spain from south to north. Starting in Seville, it passes through Extremadura’s open landscapes, the historic cities of Castilla y León, and into the hills of Galicia before arriving in Santiago. The full journey is one of the most varied of all the Caminos.
Not sure whether to take on the full Silver Way or just a section? Our comparison page makes it simple to view different Via de la Plata trips side by side — with details on distance, highlights, difficulty, and price — so you can choose the one that’s right for you.
