Camino del Norte Coastal

The Majestic Shores of the Coastal Way

This variation of the traditional Camino del Norte hugs the Atlantic coastline all the way into Galicia. The Camino del Norte Coastal, though not as notable as the Northern Way that passes through the city of Oviedo, has been used for centuries by pilgrims coming from the coasts of the Basque Country and Asturias to Santiago de Compostela, the final resting place of the Apostle Saint James.

The Camino del Norte is a unique journey, so it is no wonder that so many consider this their favourite Camino route. This Camino route unfolds across some of the most spectacular scenery on Spain’s northern coast. It passes through San Sebastian, Bilbao, Santander and Gijón, before cutting inland from Navia across Galician countryside towards the city of Santiago.
