What data we collect
We may collect and process the following information when you use the chat:
-
The chat conversation content that you choose to submit
-
Limited context from previous chats by the same visitor, used only to maintain conversational continuity
-
Personal data such as your name, email address, and phone number only if you explicitly provide it during an enquiry
Who receives the data
Chat data is processed and stored by Zoho SalesIQ on Zoho servers. We do not store chat transcripts on our own local or proprietary servers.
Depending on the nature of your enquiry, chat information may be routed within Zoho products used by Follow the Camino:
-
Website related queries may be processed by our backend system to generate responses
-
Sales, support, or service related queries may be routed to Zoho SalesIQ, Zoho Desk, or Zoho CRM as applicable
Backend data handling
Our backend system does not store personal data. It processes incoming queries against a knowledge base to generate responses. Where a workflow requires follow up from our team, relevant information is securely pushed to, and retrieved from, Zoho platforms as needed.
How long we keep chat data
By default, chat transcripts may be retained in Zoho SalesIQ for an indefinite period. We may delete chat transcripts manually in line with our internal retention practices, compliance obligations, or when deletion is requested and applicable.
How we use chat transcripts to improve the chatbot
We may review chat transcripts to improve response quality and knowledge accuracy. Conversations are not shared across users and one visitor’s chat content is not used to influence responses for another visitor.
Your choices and rights
You can choose not to use the chat and you can avoid sharing personal information through the chat if you prefer.
Even where chat data is stored in Zoho, you still have the right to make these requests directly to Follow the Camino, and we will take reasonable steps to action them through our Zoho systems.
