Cycling the Camino Portugues

The Portuguese Coastal Route by Bike!

Cycling the Camino Portugues is a growingly popular route. The varied paths are interesting to cycle and the pleasant weather of Portugal is perfect for cyclists.

The Portuguese Way or Camino Portugues is the second most popular pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostela. From Porto, we cycle through the elegant northern regions of Portugal with their magnificent food and wine (and port, of course!). Crossing then into Spain at Tui, cycle the Camino across western Galicia to the final destination of Santiago de Compostela.

Portugal is renowned for its pleasant climate and sun that shines throughout the year. This makes the Camino Portugues the perfect cycling route on the Camino. With a varied landscape that allows you to ride from hills to beaches and the serenity of the countryside to the liveliness of the city, you will be sure to find something to suit your mood.

Recommended Package

Starting in Porto in Portugal, you’ll follow the road less traveled to Santiago de Compostela. You’ll cycle along some of the most amazing sandy beaches of North Portugal and Spain, such as those near Povoa de Varzim. Go for a dip in the clear waters of the Vigo estuary and cross one of the most cultural and historic areas of Portugal and Spain with medieval Camino towns like Pontevedra.
