Last Minute Camino

Everything arranged, even when time is short

Sometimes the Camino finds you when you’re not looking for it. Maybe your plans fell through and you’re already in Europe. Maybe someone mentioned it at dinner and the idea hasn’t left you since. Maybe you just got a call telling you the next two weeks are yours.

Whatever the reason, the timing doesn’t have to stop you. We’ve been organising Camino trips for over 20 years, and we are here for you to make sure you get to go in the best conditions possible.

01. Get in touch ASAP

Talk to us so we know what we are up against. We are really good at what we do and will quickly tell you if it is worth going ahead or not.

02. Quick assessment – Can we do it or not?

Depending on the season, the starting day, number rooms you need and much more, things can be made impossible for us to book at short notice. We want you to go on the Camino de Santiago. However, we do not want to waste your time or our time. If it is a no, we will let you know within a few minutes.

03. Go – Let’s book your trip

Once we are happy we have enough info and we have a good chance of making things happen at a quality standard we are happy with, we will create the itinerary and send it to you to make the payment.

04. We are getting things ready

Once we receive the bookings, our team will dedicate a specific person or 2 depending to make the bookings right away. If we identify bottlenecks we will find solutions (2 nights in 1 place with transfers, upgrades or downgrades necessary). We will revert the same day most likely (depending at what time we start)

05. Confirmation and Holiday pack

Once everything is done, we send you E HP
This means that for certain trips we might not have the Guidebook – but we have our app
Backup pspt

06. GO Enjoy ! Walk with backup

A real person is reachable throughout your trip. If you pick up a bad blister and need to skip a stage, if you took a wrong turn and don’t know where you are, if you need emergency transport between two points, or if there’s a problem with a reservation when you arrive… we sort it.

Any route. Any length.
Just tell us what you want.

Honestly? We can work with almost any route at last minute. It’s more a question of how quickly we can confirm it than whether it’s possible at all. The shorter routes lock in faster, but if you have your heart set on the full Francés or the Primitivo, tell us anyway. We’ll check availability and come back to you with a straight answer.

One thing worth knowing: in rare cases where accommodation is very tight (peak season, popular stages) we might suggest a small logistical tweak, like repeating a night in a nearby town with more availability rather than moving forward. It doesn’t happen often, but we’d rather tell you upfront than surprise you on the road. If your first choice isn’t possible, we’ll always have an alternative ready.

Frequently Asked Questions

How last-minute is last-minute?
We need a minimum of 4 days’ notice to put a last-minute trip together properly. That gives us enough time to check availability, build your itinerary, and confirm everything before you start walking. If you’re inside that window, get in touch anyway, we’ll tell you honestly whether it’s possible or not.
Will I get decent accommodation if I book last minute?
That’s always our goal. We work with the same accommodation providers we use for all our trips, and we do a priority check before we commit to anything. In very rare cases (peak season, popular stages) we may need to offer an alternative to our first choice, but we’ll always tell you what we’re booking and why before you pay.
Do I get the same service?
Yes: same team, same support, same itinerary quality. The one difference worth knowing: for very tight bookings, we may not have time to include a printed Holiday Pack. Everything you need will be in our app.
Do I need to be fit to start immediately?
If you walk regularly, you’ll be fine on the shorter routes, especially the last 100 km sections, which average 20–25 km per day. The full Francés or Portugués requires more preparation, but many people do them without months of training. We’ll be honest with you about what’s realistic for the time you have, and we can adjust daily distances if needed.
Can I book a guided trip at the last minute?
Guided group trips follow a fixed calendar and require a minimum of participants, so last-minute guided group departures are rare. However, if you want a private guide (just you or your group with a local walking guide) we can sometimes arrange this. Ask us and we’ll see what’s available.
What about long trips — can I book the full Camino last minute?
Yes, we take last-minute bookings for 30+ day trips too. The way we handle it: we confirm your first stages first, so you always know where you’re going when you set off. If we’re still working on accommodation further down the route, that happens in the background while you’re already walking. By the time you reach those stages, everything is confirmed. You’ll never arrive somewhere without knowing where you’re sleeping that night.
What information do I need to send you?
The basics: your available dates, where you’ll be starting your trip, how many people are travelling, and whether you have any preferences for accommodation style. The more you tell us, the better the proposal, but even a rough outline is enough to start.
