Highlights

Armenteira Monastery

Cultural Heritage

This landscape is deeply rooted in centuries of cultural heritage, reflected in landmarks such as the 12th-century Monastery of Armenteira, a serene example of Romanesque architecture surrounded by forested hills, and the beautifully preserved old town of Pontevedra with its elegant squares and historic churches. Coastal villages like Combarro showcase traditional Galician hórreos overlooking the Atlantic, while Padrón carries powerful spiritual symbolism linked to the legacy of Saint James. From ancient hillforts such as Castro Lupario to the vibrant Mercado de Abastos in Santiago, the region reveals a living history shaped by monastic traditions, maritime life, and enduring Galician identity.

Wine Tasting

Wine & Gastronomy Experience

One of the most memorable aspects of this journey is sharing Galicia’s food and wine culture in a relaxed and authentic way, accompanied by a knowledgeable wine expert who brings each tasting to life. Surrounded by vineyards and coastal landscapes, you’ll sample local Denomination of Origin wines while learning the stories behind the grapes, the families, and the traditions that shape them. Meals are centred around fresh, seasonal ingredients and simple yet flavourful regional dishes, enjoyed slowly and in good company. These shared moments around the table — tasting, learning, and laughing together — create a warm and genuine connection to the land and its people.

VIGO PONTEVEDRA

This morning, we transfer you from Vigo to Redondela (approximately 10 km), where you will begin your walk and join the traditional Portuguese Way. From here, you’ll start to notice more pilgrims as the Camino atmosphere gently builds. The trail leads you through classic Galician scenery: quiet rural hamlets, rolling countryside, and fragrant eucalyptus forests. Before reaching the halfway point, you will cross the historic Ponte Sampaio, where Napoleon’s troops were famously defeated during the Peninsular War.

Upon arrival in Pontevedra, we will transfer you to your accommodation in a peaceful vineyard area, where you will stay for the next two nights. This carefully selected setting places you in the heart of Galicia’s wine country, surrounded by rolling hills and rows of vines. It’s the perfect place to slow down, unwind, and connect with the landscape while gaining a deeper appreciation for the region’s winemaking traditions.

PONTEVEDRA ARMENTEIRA

This morning, we will transfer you from your accommodation back to Pontevedra, where you concluded the previous day’s walk, allowing you to continue your Camino seamlessly from the same point.

Wandering through its narrow cobbled streets, with the Atlantic as a backdrop, offers a wonderful glimpse into the region’s maritime heritage and cultural identity.

As you approach Armenteira, the scenery gradually opens to reveal sweeping views of vineyards, wooded hills, and peaceful countryside. The village itself is home to the impressive Monastery of Armenteira, a place of quiet reflection that has played an important role in the area’s spiritual and cultural history. After your walk, we will transfer you back to your accommodation in the vineyard area for your second night. This evening will be particularly special, as you will enjoy an exclusive masterclass on local wines, a unique opportunity to deepen your understanding of Galicia’s winemaking traditions in the very landscape where they are produced.

Surrounded by this extraordinary seascape, you will taste a selection of regional wines thoughtfully paired to enhance both the flavours and the moment, a truly unique way to connect Galicia’s spiritual and winemaking heritage.
